To Be 6 Again...

I was reading my mail on this day and I come up across an interesting "just for laughs".

------

A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday.

'I'd like to be six again', she replied, still looking in the mirror.

On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was.
Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.

Coping Up from Post Traumatic Stress

--> Last night, October 7, 2009 while listening to the radio, I came across a topic of PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder discussion. As I've listened further, I have concluded that I experienced this kind of stress after the heist incident.
Never mind the things I have lost - credit cards, debit cards, health card, cell phones, gadgets, money, government ID's, etc. but the fear that was inflicted on me was severe.

The incident leads me to fright and trouble to my inner emotions.

How Much Sugar is Enough?

follower of Chet Day

If there's a single substance that people should remove from their diet to improve their overall health, white sugar would be at the very top of my list. Indeed, I think most people would be amazed at how much better they'd feel if they stopped all sugar intake for one week. And, yes, that includes not eating any packaged or bottled foods or drinks that also have sugar in them.

You don't believe you're eating much sugar? Think again. Most soft drinks sent down the ole hatch have anywhere from eight to eleven teaspoons of sugar in each 12-ounce bottle or can. And who in this day and age drinks just one 12-ounce bottle or can a day? Talk about Big Gulps. Whoa!

The RAIN...

contributed by a friend

One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat.

"Dad, I'm thinking of something." This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.

"What are you thinking?" I asked. "The rain! ;" she began, "is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away."

Go Hungry for a Change

Some inserts by Chet

Most Americans eat three meals a day and guzzle soft drinks and snack on junk food during many of  the rest of their waking hours.

Most Filipino's are fond eating snack foods which total 6 meals a day. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, supper, and midnight snack. Filipino's are well-knowed in eating rice and carbs especially with rice cakes, delicacies, and varieties of food cooking.

That's why we, as a culture, weigh more than any society in the history of the earth.

And most are feel tired and blue a lot of  the time.

If you're not happy and energetic and feeling on top of your game before you sit down for your next meal, try skipping that meal.

THE DAGOHOY STORY

Contributed by Che-che

It was the first day of school in Washington, DC and a new student name Dagohoy, the son of a Filipino immigrant, entered the fourth grade.

The teacher began, "Let's review some American history, class. Who said 'Give me liberty or give me death?'" She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Dagohoy's who had his hand up, "Patrick Henry, 1775."

"Very good," said the teacher. "Who said 'Government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth'"? Again, no response except from Dagohoy: "Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg, 1863," he said.
